{"id":10397,"date":"2017-09-28T09:44:24","date_gmt":"2017-09-28T09:44:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom.chainstoreguide.com\/?p=10397"},"modified":"2017-09-28T09:44:24","modified_gmt":"2017-09-28T09:44:24","slug":"q3-2017-casual-dining-dashboard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chainstoreguide.com\/offthechain\/2017\/09\/q3-2017-casual-dining-dashboard\/","title":{"rendered":"Q3-2017 Casual Dining Dashboard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The current year is quickly coming to a close, and <strong>Chain Store Guide<\/strong> has assembled the Casual Dining Dashboard for the third quarter.<\/p>\n<p>On the board, CSG polling data shows that consumer spending sentiment has remained on a relatively even keel over the preceding three months, while Census Bureau figures show that overall sales at US full-service restaurants were up for the first part of summer 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at same store sales data at five of the largest casual chains, only <strong>Olive Garden<\/strong> and<strong> Outback <\/strong>(barely) saw positive results during their most recently reported quarter. <strong>Applebee\u2019s <\/strong>continues to struggle as Q2 same store sales fell 7% against a year-ago quarter that itself saw same store sales down 4%.
