{"id":10853,"date":"2018-08-15T08:57:39","date_gmt":"2018-08-15T12:57:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom.chainstoreguide.com\/?p=10853"},"modified":"2018-08-15T08:57:39","modified_gmt":"2018-08-15T12:57:39","slug":"jcpenney-doubling-baby-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chainstoreguide.com\/offthechain\/2018\/08\/jcpenney-doubling-baby-business\/","title":{"rendered":"JCPenney Doubling Down on the Baby Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the closure of all <strong>Babies \u2018R\u2019 Us<\/strong> stores in 2018, many retailers are hopeful of capturing a share of the brick-and-mortar spend that the closings represent, and<strong> JCPenney <\/strong>is no exception.<\/p>\n<p>Taking a cue from its success with the store-within-a-store concept (with the likes of<strong> Sephora<\/strong>) and its move to stock appliances in 2016 to take advantage of <strong>Sears\u2019 <\/strong>struggles, the company is placing \u201cbaby shops\u201d within 500 of its stores staring this month.
