The company will roll out 50 pilot locations this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Fox Restaurant Concepts<\/strong> has plans to double the footprint of its<strong> True Food Kitchen<\/strong> concept in the next 3 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Freddy\u2019s LLC <\/strong>has opened more than 30 new restaurants to date in 2018 and plans to add another 20 or so by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Inspired Brands <\/strong>has changed the name of recently acquired R Taco back to<strong> Rusty Taco. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Smoothie King <\/strong>opened store number 1,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Taco Bueno<\/strong> closed 16 restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong> Mergers and Acquisitions <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u2022 ARC Group <\/strong>bought the four-unit <strong>Fat Patty\u2019s<\/strong> concept for $12.3 million. The company is still working to close the deal to acquire <strong>Titled Quilt. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Del Frisco\u2019s Restaurant Group<\/strong> is selling <strong>Sullivan\u2019s Steakhouse <\/strong>to <strong>Romano\u2019s Macaroni Grill <\/strong>for $32 million in a deal expected to close by the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 MTY <\/strong>has been relatively quiet of late, but that\u2019s changing. The company is buying 300-unit <strong>sweetFrog <\/strong>for $35 million.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Real Estate <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Chicken Salad Chick <\/strong>opened its first restaurant in Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Cowboy Chicken <\/strong>opened its first Georgia location in McDonough. The company has two additional California locations in the works.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Del Frisco&#8217;s Restaurant Group<\/strong> added a second<strong> Double Eagle Steakhouse <\/strong>in Boston, making that city the first to have two Double Eagle locations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 FAT Brands<\/strong> is expanding in Southern California in the next year with a dozen co-branded<strong> Fatburger <\/strong>and <strong>Buffalo&#8217;s Express <\/strong>restaurants. The company will also open a co-branded location in Washington within a new casino development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Gyroville, <\/strong>as small South Florida concept, has additional locations in the works for Orlando and Michigan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Inspire Brands <\/strong>is building a new HQ in Atlanta suburb Sandy Springs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Krystal <\/strong>opened a new prototype in Jackson, MS. The new model is less than 1,800 square feet, down from 2,000 to 2,500 square foot spaces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Nathan\u2019s Famous <\/strong>recently opened a 3,000 square foot store in Cape Coral, FL that serves as its new North American prototype.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Pie Five<\/strong> expanded to Rhode Island with a new space in the Tiverton Casino Hotel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Shuckin\u2019 Shack <\/strong>announced partnership agreements that will see expand into Florida and Virginia in 2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 White Castle <\/strong>will expand to Arizona with a Scottsdale restaurant slated to open in late 2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Just because we don\u2019t mention it here doesn\u2019t mean it didn\u2019t happen \u2013 or we didn\u2019t capture it.
