\u2022 Biscuitville (11)<\/strong> named Krispy Kreme\u2019s <\/strong>Anne Goldman to succeed recently retired Tim Hegarty as Chief Development Officer.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Brinker International<\/strong> (70)<\/strong> announced that Chili\u2019s <\/strong>President Kelli Valade is leaving the company. Her responsibilities will be assumed by Brinker President and CEO Wyman Roberts.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Buffalo Wild Wings (70) <\/strong>brought in Seth Freedman as its new Chief Marketing Officer and hired Lyle Tick to head up the brand as President.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Captain D\u2019s (29) <\/strong>hired Chris Kuehn away from Golden Corral<\/strong> to be its Chief Marketing Officer.<\/p>\n

\u2022 CEC Entertainment (15) <\/strong>hired Jim Howell as its new CFO.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Cooper’s Hawk (16) <\/strong>named Michael Coyne as its new CFO. Coyne left Potbelly<\/strong> for the position. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Dickey\u2019s Barbecue Pit (17) <\/strong>hired Phil Butler as its new Research and Development Chef.<\/p>\n

\u2022 El Pollo Loco (17) <\/strong>has its first Chief People Officer, Jennifer Jaffe.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Friendly\u2019s<\/strong> (13)<\/strong> and Johnny Rockets (13) <\/strong>CEO John Maguire stepped down. He\u2019s replaced by separate CEOs for the brands. George Michel is the new interim CEO at Friendly\u2019s while Mike Nolan joins as CEO of Johnny Rockets.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Home Run Inn Inc. (8) <\/strong>promoted restaurants President Dan Costello to corporate CEO.<\/p>\n

Industry Insight <\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 Chipotle<\/strong>, in partnership with DoorDash, added nationwide delivery capabilities via its app.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dunkin’ Donuts <\/strong>is sinking $100 million into a brand update. A large portion of that spend is geared towards improving grab-and-go service. The company will roll out 50 pilot locations this year.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Fox Restaurant Concepts<\/strong> has plans to double the footprint of its True Food Kitchen<\/strong> concept in the next 3 years.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Freddy\u2019s LLC <\/strong>has opened more than 30 new restaurants to date in 2018 and plans to add another 20 or so by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Inspired Brands <\/strong>has changed the name of recently acquired R Taco back to Rusty Taco. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Smoothie King <\/strong>opened store number 1,000.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Taco Bueno<\/strong> closed 16 restaurants.<\/p>\n

Mergers and Acquisitions <\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 ARC Group <\/strong>bought the four-unit Fat Patty\u2019s<\/strong> concept for $12.3 million. The company is still working to close the deal to acquire Titled Quilt. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Del Frisco\u2019s Restaurant Group<\/strong> is selling Sullivan\u2019s Steakhouse <\/strong>to Romano\u2019s Macaroni Grill <\/strong>for $32 million in a deal expected to close by the end of the month.<\/p>\n

\u2022 MTY <\/strong>has been relatively quiet of late, but that\u2019s changing. The company is buying 300-unit sweetFrog <\/strong>for $35 million.<\/p>\n

Real Estate <\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 Chicken Salad Chick <\/strong>opened its first restaurant in Oklahoma.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Cowboy Chicken <\/strong>opened its first Georgia location in McDonough. The company has two additional California locations in the works.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group<\/strong> added a second Double Eagle Steakhouse <\/strong>in Boston, making that city the first to have two Double Eagle locations.<\/p>\n

\u2022 FAT Brands<\/strong> is expanding in Southern California in the next year with a dozen co-branded Fatburger <\/strong>and Buffalo’s Express <\/strong>restaurants. The company will also open a co-branded location in Washington within a new casino development.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Gyroville, <\/strong>as small South Florida concept, has additional locations in the works for Orlando and Michigan.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Inspire Brands <\/strong>is building a new HQ in Atlanta suburb Sandy Springs.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Krystal <\/strong>opened a new prototype in Jackson, MS. The new model is less than 1,800 square feet, down from 2,000 to 2,500 square foot spaces.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Nathan\u2019s Famous <\/strong>recently opened a 3,000 square foot store in Cape Coral, FL that serves as its new North American prototype.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Pie Five<\/strong> expanded to Rhode Island with a new space in the Tiverton Casino Hotel.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Shuckin\u2019 Shack <\/strong>announced partnership agreements that will see expand into Florida and Virginia in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u2022 White Castle <\/strong>will expand to Arizona with a Scottsdale restaurant slated to open in late 2019.<\/p>\n
