\u2022 Rite Aid Corporation<\/strong> (77)<\/strong> has announced that Justin Mennen had been named to Senior VP and CIO.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sephora USA Inc. (136)<\/strong> announced Jean-Andr\u00e9 Rougeot has been hired as the new CEO of Sephora Americas.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (146)<\/strong> has named three new executives. Vineet Mehra is now Chief Marketing Officer, Annie Murphy is now Chief Commercial Officer and Colin Nelson is now Senior VP and Chief Supply Chain Officer.<\/p>\n

\u2022 ShopKo Stores Operating Co. LLC<\/strong> has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The retailer plans to close 38 stores, relocate more than 20 Optical centers to freestanding locations and sell its pharmacy business.<\/p>\n

Mergers and Acquisitions<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 Cardinal Health Inc.<\/strong> has acquired Mirixa, a leading provider of technology-enabled solutions.<\/p>\n

\u2022 L\u2019Occitane Inc.<\/strong> said it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Elemis, the number one luxury British skincare brand.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ritzman Pharmacy<\/strong> announced that it is selling its 20 retail pharmacies in Northeast Ohio to CVS Health. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of February.<\/p>\n

Industry Insight<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 Birchbox<\/strong> has rolled out pop-ups in 11 Walgreens and Duane Reade locations as test pilots.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Giant Eagle<\/strong> is working with regional health system University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to roll out UPMC AnywhereCare telemedicine kiosks in several stores.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Hy-Vee Inc.<\/strong> announced that it has acquired the business of 22 ShopKo Stores Operating Co. LLC\u2019s<\/strong> pharmacies in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Rite Aid Corporation<\/strong> announced an agreement with McKesson<\/strong> Corp.<\/strong> that will continue the companies\u2019 pharmaceutical sourcing and distribution partnership for an additional 10 years.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Shoppers Drug Mart<\/strong> Corporation<\/strong> announced that it will be opening a new pilot store called Beauty Clinic by Shoppers Drug Mart. The first location will open in Oakville, ON, and a second is set to open in Toronto this year as well.<\/p>\n
