\u2022 Express Inc<\/strong>. (112)<\/strong> announced that David Kornberg, CEO and President, is no longer with the company. Matthew Moellering has been appointed as Interim CEO and President until a permanent replacement is named.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Francesca\u2019s Holdings Corp<\/strong>. (59)<\/strong> announced that Steve Lawrence has resigned as CEO.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Gap (219)<\/strong> announced it has named Alegra O\u2019Hare as Senior VP and Chief Marketing Officer.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Genesco Inc<\/strong>. (82)<\/strong> announced Jon Caplan will retire as CEO of Johnston & Murphy, effective at the end of June 2019. The division will be led by Danny Ewoldsen.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Guess? Inc<\/strong>. (99)<\/strong> announced that Victor Herrero, CEO and a Director, is leaving the company. Carlos Alberini has been appointed as the new CEO.<\/p>\n

\u2022 JCPenney Company, Inc<\/strong>. (99)<\/strong> has named Mike Robbins as its Chief Officer of Stores and Supply Chain. The retailer also hired Truett Horne as its new Chief Transformation Officer.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Macy\u2019s, Inc<\/strong>. (156)<\/strong> announced that Patti Ongman has been named Chief Merchandising Officer of the Macy\u2019s brand, effective March 1.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Neiman Marcus Group (100)<\/strong> announced that Neva Hall, Exec VP of Stores is retiring from the company. The retailer also announced Jim Gold, President and Chief Merchandising Officer is leaving the company in March.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Recreational Equipment Inc<\/strong>. (86)<\/strong> announced its President and CEO Jerry Stritzke has resigned from the company as of March 15. The retailers COO Eric Artz will become Interim CEO.<\/p>\n

Financial Focus<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 Charlotte Russe Holdings Inc<\/strong>. announced it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The teen fashion retailer said it plans to close about 95 stores while continuing to pursue a sale of the business and assets.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Levi Strauss & Co<\/strong>. has filed the required paperwork for an initial public offering.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Payless ShoeSource Inc<\/strong>. is set to enter bankruptcy court for the second time, following its initial filing in April 2017.<\/p>\n

Industry Insight<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 JCPenney Company, Inc<\/strong>. announced it is exiting the home appliance business at the end of this month. Furniture, which is now in 105 stores, will soon only be available online and in some stores in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sears <\/strong>announced a plan to close some stores, and to devote more of its retail space to tools and appliances. The company plans to open more smaller 62,000 sq. ft. stores, which at is about one-third its original size.<\/p>\n

Real Estate<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 Chanel USA<\/strong> recently opened a new 10,000 sq. ft. store in Chicago, IL.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Joe\u2019s Jeans Inc<\/strong>. has announced plans to reopen its New York flagship on Mercer Street. It will be 1,500 sq. ft., half the size of the original location.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Caleres<\/strong> announced it will soon open Naturalizer flagships in Chicago, IL, and one on 34th Street in Manhattan, near Herald Square.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Nordstrom Inc<\/strong>. announced it is closing two locations, in Norfolk, VA, and Wellington, FL in April of this year.<\/p>\n
