Brown, Exec VP and CIO, has retired after almost 28 years with the company.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Lowe&#8217;s,Cos<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">. announced that Kevin Summers, has been appointed CIO.\u00a0 He replaces Michael Brown, who retired recently.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Zeeland Lumber<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\"> has named Mike Dykstra as the new CEO, replacing Herk VandenBosch as part of an orderly transition.\u00a0 Dykstra previously held the title of President.\u00a0 The transition is the culmination of two-year plan to allow VandenBosch to slowly exit from day-to-day duties and reduce working hours. VandenBosch will continue as a board member and also continue working as Exec VP Business Development.\u00a0 <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Industry Insight:<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Mead Lumber Co<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">. has closed its Ashland, Neb., location. The 102-year-old lumberyard was not able to generate enough volume to make the business viable. \u00a0Mead Lumber will now operate 36 stores in Nebraska, South Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Kansas and Oklahoma.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Menards<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\"> is planning four stores in the Detroit market, where it currently has no presence.\u00a0 Menards hopes to open the stores sometime next year.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Menards<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\"> will break ground this month on a new site in <em><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Garden City, Kansas<\/span><\/em>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">The Menards store, which will encompass about 162,000 sq. ft., will be built on about 28 acres.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Rocky\u2019s Ace Hardware<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\"> will open a brand new store in Fairhaven, Mass.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Construction at the new site will begin immediately. <b>The store is expected to be open in September.<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">ProBuild Holdings Inc<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">., cut 127 corporate positions across its operations nationwide \u201cto reduce costs and better serve customers.\u00a0 The job cuts were across all departments and geographic areas, although most of the cuts were administration positions, including jobs in finance and human resources.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">Westlake Hardware<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\"> closed an underperforming store in St. Charles, Mo.
