Ritzman has been in the pharmacy business since 1950 when Forrest Ritzman opened the first pharmacy in downtown Wadsworth called Wadsworth Pharmacy.\u00a0 At various times during the life of the company over the past 60 years, Mr. Ritzman’s six sons and two daughters worked with him in the pharmacy. Five of Forrest’s sons followed in their father\u2019s footsteps and became pharmacists. Over the years several sons opened their own pharmacies in the area. In 1985, these pharmacies were combined to form Ritzman Pharmacy, Inc. and today, two of Forrest’s\u00a0sons\u00a0are still active in the business.<\/p>\n

After a recent acquisition, Ritzman now operates 20 retail pharmacy locations as well as an infusion service specialty pharmacy.\u00a0 In October of 2011, Ritzman acquired all of Buehler’s in-store pharmacies. The company owns and operates all of Buehler’s eleven pharmacies, while they remain inside Buehler supermarkets.\u00a0 According to a company press release, \u201ceach business will be able to focus on what they do best: Buehler’s- providing their customers with a superior supermarket and grocery shopping experience, Ritzman- providing excellent pharmacy services. Both Ritzman Pharmacies and Buehler’s Fresh Foods share a mutual commitment to exceeding customers’ expectations, making this an excellent collaboration.\u201d<\/p>\n
