\u2022 C & S Wholesale Grocers Inc<\/strong>. announced that it plans to acquire Piggly Wiggly Midwest LLC<\/strong>. The transaction includes 109 store locations.<\/p>\n

\u2022 C & S Wholesale Grocers Inc.<\/strong> reported that is has hired Mark McGowan as Senior VP of Retail.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Coborn\u2019s Inc<\/strong>. reported that Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc.<\/strong> will be its primary wholesale supplier starting next year.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Abercrombie & Fitch Co<\/strong>. opened a new standalone store concept for its Gilly Hicks brand. The store, in Columbus, OH, is the only current standalone location. The new Gilly Hicks prototype is part of a renovation for the brand towards gender-inclusivity. The store does not separate the women\u2019s and men\u2019s departments.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Batteries Plus Bulbs<\/strong> announced 52 new franchisee signings to date for 2021. The retailer is on pace to exceed 75 franchise signings by the end of this year.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits<\/strong> is the first major restaurant chain to sign a marketing deal with college athletes by coming to contract terms with quarterbacks from Clemson University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.\u00a0 NCAA policies were changed earlier this year to allow student athletes to earn income based on the use of their name, image, and likeness.<\/p>\n
