In other moves Danny McGowan becomes COO and Matt Goldstick is the new CFO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Dickey\u2019s Barbecue Pit (18)<\/strong> brought in Jared Madry to serve as its VP of Construction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Four Foods Group (12), <\/strong>a multi-brand franchisee named added President to the list of titles worn by co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer Shauna Smith.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Fuzzy\u2019s Taco Shop (20) <\/strong>welcomed David Catalano onboard as COO. Catalano arrives at Fuzzy\u2019s from <strong>Logan\u2019s Roadhouse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 KFC (55)<\/strong> CEO Roger Eaton will retire at the end of the year to be replaced by Tony Lowings, a longtime<strong> YUM! It sold 13 corporate locations in Austin, TX.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 RAVE Restaurant Group<\/strong> closed 5 <strong>Pie Five <\/strong>locations and also announced a new streamlined prototype for the concept.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Starbucks<\/strong> is planning layoffs and leadership changes in the face of struggles in recent quarters. The changes are likely to occur through mid-November.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Subway <\/strong>now offers delivery at 9,000 locations after the company partnered with <em>four<\/em> 3<sup>rd<\/sup> party service providers, Uber Eats, Grubhub, DoorDash and Postmates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Urban Plates <\/strong>has secured a $35 million loan from Goldman Sachs and will use the cash to expand from 15 units (CA) to 50 over the next 3 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Zoe&#8217;s Kitchen <\/strong>is partnering with American Airlines to offer a number of new in-flight dining options.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Mergers and Acquisitions<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Elite Restaurant Group <\/strong>(<strong>Slater\u2019s 50\/50<\/strong> and<strong> Daphne\u2019s<\/strong>) acquired 17-unit <strong>Patxis Pizza<\/strong>. In another deal, the company acquired <strong>Noon Mediterranean <\/strong>out of bankruptcy. With Noon, Elite will rebrand the 12 stores with the Daphne\u2019s banners and develop a Noon\/Daphne hybrid menu for the stores.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Inspire Brands <\/strong>will buy<strong> Sonic Inc<\/strong>. for $2.3 billion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Lyfe Kitchen <\/strong>was sold by the <strong>Carlisle Group <\/strong>to its Chicago franchisee <strong>L3 Hospitality Group<\/strong>. The three Chicago area stores are the only ones that remain open, and L3 plans on expanding from this new base.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Romano&#8217;s Macaroni Grill <\/strong>will acquire the<strong> Sullivan&#8217;s Steakhouse <\/strong>chain from<strong> Del Frisco&#8217;s Restaurant Group<\/strong> for $14 million.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Taylor Gourmet<\/strong>, a 17-unit Washington DC chain, closed all of its locations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Real Estate<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Del Frisco&#8217;s<\/strong> will open its first <strong>Double Eagle Steakhouse<\/strong> in California next month (San Diego) with a second planned (LA).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 JINYA Ramen Bar <\/strong>opened its first Nebraska location in Omaha.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 MOOYAH Burgers <\/strong>opened its first Rhode Island and first casino location in the Tiverton Casino Hotel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 SAJJ Mediterranean<\/strong> has three new units in development \u2013 Irvine, San Jose and San Ramon, CA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Wendy\u2019s<\/strong> is looking at Quebec for expansion opportunities.
