Batteries Plus<\/strong> has implemented the HighJump warehouse management system (WMS) in its new national distribution center in Glendale, WI.

<\/strong>
Best Buy Canada<\/strong>, by the summer of 2012, will roll out mobile point-of-sale in select Future Shop and Best Buy pilot store locations.

<\/strong>
Family Dollar<\/strong> is using its Kronos suite of workforce management solutions to control labor costs, minimize compliance risk, and improve the productivity of employees across 7,000 stores.

<\/strong>
Home Depot<\/strong> has expanded its brick-and-mortar payments pilot with PayPal from five stores to 51, and if the payment test is successful, it will be made available in more than 2,000 Home Depot stores by March. In addition, Reuters reports that Office Depot<\/strong> is testing PayPal’s POS solution in a few of its stores. PayPal has said it plans to offer the service at 20 major retailers by the end of 2012, but it has not yet named the others.

Americaneagle.com<\/strong>, a web site design, development and hosting firm, recently partnered with retail enterprise business solutions provider, Jesta I.S., to offer a pre-integrated e-Commerce solution.

Bass Pro Shops<\/strong> is engaging the services of PCMS for a pilot of mobile sales devices in an effort to reduce customer wait time. The company will launch the system in two phases. The first phase will involve iPod Touch technology to enable customers\u2019 purchases to be scanned while waiting in line and when the customer reaches the register the payment is concluded. Stage two will enable payments to be taken via the iPod Touch, reducing transaction times even further.

Guess<\/strong> is testing customer-accessible iPads in the men’s, women’s and accessories departments and even in the dressing rooms in 25 stores. The flexibility of the tablets and sharp, customer-friendly graphics make the devices a much more effective way to show demos and to locate merchandise, check inventory and do anything else that a kiosk would normally do.

Love Culture<\/strong> has selected the Epicor Retail Software as a Service<\/a> (SaaS) solution.

<\/strong>
Reeds Jewelers<\/strong> has signed a multi-year renewal agreement with Alliance Data Systems Corporation. The company will continue providing private label credit card services.<\/p>\n

Urban Outfitters<\/strong> has selected the QuantiSense Decision Orchestration Platform<\/a>, which combines business intelligence, data warehousing and sophisticated retail analytics into role-based, actionable, and repeatable processes.<\/p>\n

Foodservice Technology<\/a><\/span><\/strong>

<\/strong>
Food Lion<\/strong> is close to completing a rollout of computer-assisted ordering (CAO) to all of its more than 1,500 stores.<\/p>\n

Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets<\/strong>, Tesco\u2019s U.S. subsidiary, will deploy the Retalix 10 Store Suite software, with plans to install it in all stores within three years. The Retalix 10 Store and Sales Channels suite covers all touch points and sales channels, including POS, self-checkout, self-scanning, customer scale, customer kiosk, fuel sales, mobile commerce and ecommerce, as well as a range of store and chain management applications.

Chili\u2019s Grill & Bar<\/strong> is continuing to make mobile bar codes a core part of its marketing strategy by placing them on menus to advertise new products.<\/p>\n
