\"Save<\/a>Save Mart opened its first store in Modesto, California on January 17th<\/sup>, 1952. According to the company, it was one of the first supermarkets to offer customers pre-packaged meats, yard and garden supplies, plants, fresh-cut flowers and gift item. In the 1950\u2019s, these were innovative concepts for supermarket chains and relatively unheard of for the California area until Save Mart introduced them. Today, the company has grown into a 226-unit multi-billion dollar supermarket chain.<\/p>\n
