Hata &amp; Co.<\/strong> is opening a new division named ChefZone, adding cash-and-carry distribution to the Honolulu-based food distributor\u2019s portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Real Estate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arby&#8217;s Restaurant Group, Inc<\/strong>. announced plans to launch a major remodeling program across its nationwide network of nearly 3,400 Arby&#8217;s quick-service sandwich restaurants. The turnkey revitalization initiative includes a new building image, team member re-training program and franchisee remodel financing solution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bar Louie<\/strong> plans to add 200 new units by 2018. This year, there are plans to open 25 locations and over the coming 24 months, Bar Louie has set its sights on adding corporate units in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and TX. Growth in franchise expansion is focused on the West Coast and parts of the Southeast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blaze Fast Fire&#8217;d Pizza<\/strong> announced that its 25th restaurant is set to open next month in Mission Viejo CA, and its 60th restaurant is scheduled to open in New Orleans LA in December. Its first NY location opened in mid-July.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bojangles\u2019 Restaurants, Inc<\/strong>. opened its 600th location. The chain expects to open 55 to 60 locations throughout the Southeast this year, adding new restaurants in more than 25 market areas including Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Orlando, FL; Richmond, VA; Nashville, Knoxville, and Tri-Cities, TN. This year\u2019s expansion is part of Bojangles\u2019 long-term growth plan to have 1,000 units open by 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burger 21<\/strong> announced today it has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement to develop three additional restaurants in the Atlanta area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Capriotti&#8217;s Sandwich Shop<\/strong> is planning to open 10 to 15 restaurants in the Baltimore area over the next five to eight years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Inc.<\/strong> signed a development agreement to expand its growth in the Philadelphia market, almost doubling its restaurant base from 23 to 40 by 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Corner Bakery Caf\u00e9<\/strong> recently announced its entry into OR, with plans to open 12 neighborhood caf\u00e9s in the state of OR and Vancouver, WA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dunkin&#8217; Donuts<\/strong> announced the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement for five restaurants in North and South Greensboro, NC; the locations will incorporate traditional and combination unit development with sister brand, Baskin-Robbins, with the first restaurant planned to open in 2015.<\/p>\n<p><strong>East Coast Wings &amp; Grill<\/strong> is announced plans to add nine more Central Florida locations by 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freddy\u2019s Frozen Custard &amp; Steakburgers<\/strong> has signed agreements for two dozen Freddy\u2019s locations in metro Orlando, slated to open over the new few years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Houlihan\u2019s Restaurants Inc<\/strong>. plans to start franchising its J. Gilbert\u2019s Wood-Fired Steaks &amp; Seafood concept.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Huddle House<\/strong> is adding 10 units over the next five years in NY and six new units in NJ, marking the 50-year-old brand&#8217;s first foray into that area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marco&#8217;s Pizza<\/strong> is launching an ambitious expansion plan in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where the booming market is primed for the experience of authentic Italian pizza.<\/p>\n<p><strong>McAlister&#8217;s Deli<\/strong> announced it has signed an agreement for three locations in Tallahassee and Panama City, FL.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moe\u2019s Southwest Grill<\/strong> has signed 120 new franchise deals in the first six months of 2014. Moe\u2019s continues its aggressive expansion this year with new restaurants being developed in significant markets, such as Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Pittsburgh and Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Papa Murphy&#8217;s<\/strong> is planning to add 15-17 stores in the Memphis area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Penn Station East Coast Subs<\/strong> announced deals to expand for the first time into the Chicago (10 locations), Atlanta (5), and Dallas (15) area markets over the next few years. Penn Station plans to open 30 restaurants nationwide in 2014. Additional markets targeted for growth include Kansas City, MO; Richmond, VA; Detroit; Nashville, TN; and NC and SC, as well as a number of other existing markets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pie Five Pizza Co<\/strong>. announced that it has awarded eight franchise units to be developed in Lubbock, Amarillo, Odessa, Midland and Abilene, beginning in early 2015. and 18 franchise units throughout Tampa, FL. Pie Five Pizza Co. has also awarded 26 franchise units to Quality Restaurant Concepts LLC which will bring the brand to three new states across the Deep South \u2013 AL, MS and Chattanooga TN.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pieology Pizzeria<\/strong> is planning to open five Portland, OR, locations by 2015.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pizza Patron<\/strong> plans to open 25 locations by the end of the year, including seven new restaurants in Houston over the next year. The Weitzman Group has been selected by Pizza Patr\u00f3n to be an exclusive partner in site location and tenant representation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project Pie<\/strong> is breaking into the TX market with three Dallas locations and several more in the planning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quaker Steak &amp; Lube<\/strong> opened its first Louisiana location.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rita\u2019s Italian Ice<\/strong> has signed an franchise area development agreement for at least 75 Rita\u2019s stores over the next several years throughout six Northern CA counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Round Table Pizza<\/strong> has jumped into the fast casual segment with the opening of its new concept, Fresh Pixx.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Russo&#8217;s Restaurants<\/strong> announced plans to significantly enhance the brands&#8217; footprint in New England and the Mid-Atlantic region. An additional 10-12 restaurants are also planned to open this year in Texas markets like Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saladworks<\/strong> is on target to open nine new stores in the United States and at least five internationally. New stores opening this summer will be Rochester, NY; Grand Rapids, MI; Franklin, TN; Virginia Beach, VA and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The fall will kick off with a surge of growth in new markets such as Bowling Green, KY; Morgantown, WV; Boston, MA; and Centerpoint, MI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarpino&#8217;s Pizzeria<\/strong> is targeting Orlando to open nearly a dozen stores and has plans for a few other expansion locations throughout FL.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saxbys Coffee<\/strong> will open nine new locations in the Mid-Atlantic region this year, five of which will be opening in the Philadelphia area.
