It was\u00a0confirmed that Roy&#8217;s current management team will remain in place and will continue to be led by the current President Richard Scott.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boxwood Capital Partners LLC<\/strong> acquired yogurt store operator\u00a0<strong>sweetFrog Enterprises<\/strong>. The also company plans to open a store in Egypt, and\u00a0Boxwood says it plans to expand sweetFrog&#8217;s product offerings and continue the company&#8217;s expansion internationally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Levy Acquisition Corp.<\/strong> announced it is in \u201cadvanced talks\u201d to acquire the 550-unit, Lake Forest, California-based <strong>Del Taco<\/strong> company, in a deal that could value it at as much as $500 million.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Muscle Maker Franchising LLC<\/strong>\u00a0was acquired by\u00a0<strong>American Restaurant Holdings Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0affiliated\u00a0<strong>Muscle Maker Inc.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>RPM Pizza LLC<\/strong> announced the acquisition of 45 <strong>Domino&#8217;s<\/strong> stores throughout IN.\u00a0The acquisition includes nearly 40 stores in the Indianapolis metro area, and stores serving South Bend and Lafayette. Once completed, the acquisition will give RPM Pizza operations in seven states, employing more than 3,800 team members.\u00a0Another 28 new stores are part of the agreement and will be built in MS, LA, and IN.\u00a0With this purchase, 185 stores will be operated by RPM Pizza, and Mueller said the goal is at least 215 stores by 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ruth\u2019s Hospitality Group, Inc.\u00a0<\/strong>announced that it has completed its previously announced sale of substantially all of the assets related to the\u00a0<strong>Mitchell\u2019s Fish Market<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Mitchell\u2019s\/Cameron\u2019s Steakhouse<\/strong>\u00a0businesses to\u00a0<strong>Landry&#8217;s Inc<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sysco Corporation <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>US Foods, Inc.<\/strong> entered into an asset purchase agreement\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>Performance Food Group, Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0through which PFG has agreed to purchase\u00a0(11) US Foods distribution centers in the Cleveland, OH; Corona, CA; Denver, CO; Kansas City, KS;\u00a0Las Vegas, NV; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ (including the Phoenix Stock Yards business); Salt Lake City, UT; San Diego,\u00a0CA (including the San Diego Stock Yards business); San Francisco, CA; and Seattle, WA markets. The purchase price for the Transaction is $850 million, in cash, subject to certain\u00a0adjustments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wyndham Hotel Group<\/strong> acquired 24 properties and more than 5,500 guestrooms across seven countries in Europe and North America from Dolce Hotels and Resorts for $57 million in cash.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Industry Updates<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ben E. Keith Company<\/strong> announced expansion plans to its OK division. Construction is scheduled to begin 02\/01\/15 to add 134,000 square feet of storage space to the existing building. The addition will add about 40% capacity to the existing 342,000 square feet, which was opened in 2006.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buffalo Wild Wings<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Inc<\/strong>. opened its first restaurant in the Philippines in Pasig City.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carlson Rezidor<\/strong>\u00a0announced expansion plans for its portfolio in the Middle East: Park Inn by <strong>Radisson<\/strong> Dubai Motor City; UAE (147 rooms, opening in Q1 2017) and the upper upscale <strong>Radisson Blu <\/strong>Hotel &amp; Residence, Jeddah Gate; Saudi Arabia (452 rooms, opening in Q1 2018).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cracker Barrel Old Country Store<\/strong>\u00a0announced that the company is developing a fast-casual restaurant concept that will give the company a way to set up in denser urban areas. No details were given about the name, menu specifics, or square footage. The company plans to have &#8220;a few&#8221; concept stores open by the fall of 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Doc Popcorn<\/strong>\u00a0announced it is joining forces with <strong>Dippin\u2019 Dots<\/strong> to debut its first dual-brand location. The first <strong>Doc Popcorn\/Dippin\u2019 Dots<\/strong> co-brand unit plans to open soon at the Battlefield Mall in Springfield, MO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Domino&#8217;s<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Inc.<\/strong> announced the company is rebranding from\u00a0<strong>Domino&#8217;s Pizza<\/strong>\u00a0to just\u00a0<strong>Domino&#8217;s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Farmer Boys<\/strong>\u00a0restaurants celebrated the official ribbon cutting for its 80<sup>th<\/sup> restaurant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Great Wraps Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0announced a comprehensive brand initiative expanding the brand name to <strong>Great Wraps Grill<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homestyle Dining LLC<\/strong>\u00a0opened the first\u00a0<strong>Ponderosa Grill<\/strong>\u00a0in Dubai.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HuHot Mongolian Grill<\/strong> launched a new fast-casual stir-fry concept,\u00a0<strong>NuHu Mongolian Express<\/strong>, in Denver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hyatt Hotels Corporation<\/strong>\u00a0introduced a new, full-service lifestyle brand, <strong>Hyatt Centric<\/strong>, to its portfolio and will debut its first locations in April and throughout this coming summer \u2013 New York, Paris, Atlanta, Chicago, and Miami.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Krispy Kreme<\/strong>\u00a0announced that it has extended a development agreement to include the development of 15 new doughnut shops throughout the greater St. Petersburg, Russia, area over the next five years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maui Wowi Hawaiian <\/strong>announced the company is relocating its global corporate headquarters to\u00a01509 York Street, Ste 300, Denver, CO 80206. The company\u2019s central location provides closer proximity to its corporate-owned caf\u00e9 that was recently announced will open spring 2015.<\/p>\n<p><strong>McDonald&#8217;s Corp<\/strong>. announced it will open fewer restaurants in Russia in 2015 due to the falling rouble, which increased expansion costs and hurt consumers; the company expects to open 50 new restaurants in the country as opposed to last year&#8217;s 73.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panera Bread<\/strong>\u00a0announced it will convert as many as 300 more of its restaurants to the Panera 2.0 format this year, bringing the total to about 400.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rubio\u2019s Fresh Mexican Grill<\/strong>\u00a0announced the company\u00a0is changing its name and renewing its focus on seafood as part of a brand revamp. The fast-casual chain is slowly evolving into \u201c<strong>Rubio\u2019s Coastal Grill<\/strong>,\u201d as the Carlsbad, CA-based concept works through a remodeling program that will eventually reach all its restaurants. The new ocean-themed d\u00e9cor will also be the design going forward for the six or seven new units scheduled to open this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starbucks<\/strong>\u00a0expanded its Starbucks Evenings menu to select stores in Canada this year, adding beer, wine, and small-plate snacks to drive traffic after 4pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Wendy&#8217;s Co.<\/strong>\u00a0announced it would sell about 500 restaurants to franchisees and reduce company ownership of its outlets to about 5% by mid-2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tim Hortons<\/strong>\u00a0held a grand opening for its recently renovated original location in Hamilton in early January celebrating its 50<sup>th <\/sup>anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Real Estate<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Another Broken Egg<\/strong>\u00a0announced it is seeking\u00a0franchise growth opportunities throughout Denver, Phoenix, and Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arby\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0is seeking growth opportunities nationwide during the coming 18 months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aurelio&#8217;s\u00a0Pizza<\/strong>\u00a0announced it is currently seeking franchisees in CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, MI, and NV.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ben &amp; Jerry\u2019s Ice Cream<\/strong>\u00a0announced the company seeking growth opportunities nationwide during the coming 18 months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BJ&#8217;s Restaurants, Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0opened its first NY location in Nanuet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blaze Fast-Fire&#8217;d Pizza<\/strong>\u00a0announced that it will soon open its first TX location in Frisco. The company also stated is scheduled to open another 60 to 70 stores in 2015.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burger 21<\/strong> signed franchise agreements to develop an additional restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and its first restaurant in McAllen, TX. The Tampa-based chain currently has TX locations in development in Irving and Austin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chipotle <\/strong>revealed\u00a0plans to open 4,000 new locations including a new &#8220;mini Chipotle&#8221; format that offers take-out only. The new prototype would have lower upfront costs to start a new restaurant and allow the chain to enter smaller markets. The company also announced it is expanding its new pizzeria chain, <strong>Pizzeria Locale<\/strong>, outside of CO and into Kansas City, MO, later this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chop&#8217;t Creative Salad Co. <\/strong>announced plans to open its first NC location in Charlotte.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chronic Tacos Enterprises Inc.<\/strong> signed multiunit franchise deal for 12 locations in CO, 3 to12 locations in WA, and up to 14 in AZ.\u00a0Locations already in development include 6 in CA and 3 locations planned for NC. The company said it wants to add 10 locations this year and 20 in 2016 with plans to hit 100 restaurants by 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cowboy Chicken<\/strong>\u00a0signed a deal for its first LA location in Baton Rouge, opening in the fall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Del Taco\u00a0<\/strong>announced that it will enter into the Northeast region with the signing of two development agreements in NJ, slated to begin opening in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deli Delicious<\/strong>\u00a0mentioned plans to expand by 22 stores this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dig Inn<\/strong>\u00a0has raised $15 million in financing from a group of investors, and plans to use the funds to expand outside its NYC base and explore using more technology in its restaurants.\u00a0Dig Inn plans to add at least five units this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dunkin&#8217; Donuts<\/strong>\u00a0announced it will open 10 new franchised restaurants in Birmingham, AL.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria<\/strong>\u00a0announced it opened its first Saskatchewan location in Lawson Heights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fatburger<\/strong> announced a development agreement in Southern CA for 30 new stores in San Diego, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties including the Coachella Valley.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fresh To Order<\/strong>\u00a0announced it will open its first NC unit in Charlotte&#8217;s Carolina Place Mall by the end of the month. The unit is the first of eight restaurants scheduled to open in NC over the next five years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hooters of America, LLC<\/strong>\u00a0announced a development agreement to open 30\u00a0<strong>Hooters<\/strong>\u00a0locations throughout Southeast Asia over the next six years. After introducing the concept to Thailand, Hooters has set sights on Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as Hong Kong and Macau.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jack in the Box<\/strong>\u00a0announced plans to open up to 10 additional restaurants in HI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>la Madeleine<\/strong>\u00a0announced plans to open 12 new locations in TX and OK.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marriott International, Inc.<\/strong> announced plans for its third\u00a0<strong>AC Hotels<\/strong>\u00a0branded property in the US, in Washington, D.C. at National Harbor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Menchie\u2019s<\/strong> opened its first AR location at Alcoa Exchange in Bryant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MOD Pizza <\/strong>announced plans to substantially increase its footprint in the US with company and partner expansion throughout the East Coast and Midwest in 2015; the company will open its first East Coast store in Willow Grove, PA, in March and open 6 new locations in the Philadelphia area this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mooyah Burgers Fries &amp; Shakes<\/strong>\u00a0announced plans to add a location in WI this summer with intentions to add up to 10 locations in the next three years, and is seeking franchises in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Kenosha, Racine, and Appleton. The company also stated plans to open a dozen FL locations, with the first in Miami in April 2015, as well as the first of 20 locations in NC. Specifically,\u00a0Mooyah&#8217;s 2015 expansion plans also include Atlanta, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Tampa, and Cincinnati.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Newk&#8217;s Eatery<\/strong>\u00a0announced a new development agreement to open 11\u00a0<strong>Newk&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0locations in the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Lakeland, and Clearwater markets in FL.
