Many thought it to be the merger to end all mergers within this market, as the perennial numbers two and three industry leaders joined forces. In fact, much of the grand gain in annual sales noted above is attributed to the results of the Office Depot\/OfficeMax union.<\/p>\n<p>Now Staples has proposed its acquisition of Office Depot.
