• Hudson’s Bay Company (214) announced its CEO, Helena Foulkes, is leaving the company. Richard Baker, Hudson’s Bay Executive Chairman, will become CEO.
• Nordstrom Inc. (154) named Erik Nordstrom as its CEO. Pete Nordstrom will become President and Chief Brand Officer.
• Target Corporation (288) announced the hiring of Heath Holtz as Senior VP, Field Operations.
• Walmart Stores Inc. (246) has named Jamie Iannone as its COO for U.S. E-commerce.
• Dollar Tree Stores Inc. said that it will remodel about 1,250 Family Dollar stores to its “H2” format in fiscal 2020. The format features improved merchandise offerings, and an expanded number of freezer and cooler doors.
• Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. recently opened two new “landmark stores”. A Los Angeles, CA, store that has 5,000 sq. ft. of space and references the ongoing renaissance of the city’s downtown. Second, an 8,000 sq. ft. store in New York which is located in a historic SoHo storefront.
• Paper Source announced that it has acquired 30 closed Papyrus stores and will soon begin converting the locations.
• Stage Stores Inc. is planning grand openings for 133 locations this month. The retailer converted Bealls and Goody’s locations to Gordman’s.
• Target Corporation plans to open 36 small-format store locations in 2020. Target will also open new warehouses near key markets, including New York and southern California this year.
