• Sobeys Inc. announced it has promoted Pierre St-Laurent to President and CEO of the company. Michael Medline has retired.
• Sprouts Farmers Markets Inc. reported it will open its first location in New York. A new store will open in Centereach, NY, on January 30, 2026.
• TravelCenters of America Inc. has appointed Jason Nordin as its new CEO. He replaces Debi Boffa, who recently resigned from the company.
Restaurant
• BJ’s Restaurants Inc. announced that Todd Wilson has been appointed CFO.
• P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Restaurants has appointed Jim Mazany as CEO. He succeeds Brad Hill, who has left the company.
• The Portillo Restaurant Group will open its first restaurant in Georgia this week. The 6,250 sq. ft. location is in Kennesaw, GA, and is the 100th location for the company.
• Sweetgreen, Inc. will open its first location featuring a drive-thru this week. The new 2,295 sq. ft. restaurant will be in Costa Mesa, CA.
Retail
• 1-800 FLOWERS.com Inc. has partnered with DoorDash to offer another delivery option to its customers.
• Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. has opened a new two-level, 100,000 sq. ft. Dick’s House of Sport in Strongsville, OH.
• Helzberg Diamond Shops Inc. will soon open two new stores in Garden City, NY, and Dallas, TX.
Netflix, Inc. has opened its first retail store, called Netflix House, in King of Prussia, PA. A second Netflix House location will open next month in Dallas, TX. A third location is planned for Las Vegas, NV, in 2027.
• Nordstrom Inc. plans to open a new 26,000 sq. ft. Nordstrom Rack location in Orlando, FL, in fall 2026. The retailer also plans to open a new 26,000 sq. ft. Nordstrom Rack in Rockville, MD, and a 25,000 sq. ft. Nordstrom Rack in Murphy, TX.
• RONA Inc. has partnered with DoorDash to offer delivery to its customers.
• TAL Building Centers has announced the promotion of Gaven Gregory to COO. Billy Cornelius has been promoted to VP of Pro Sales.
