Free Trial• Amazon.com Inc. is planning to close four Amazon Fresh stores in Southern California.

• Hy-Vee Inc. announced it will acquire the County Market grocery store in Wausau, WI, and the adjacent Circle K convenience store. The company will rebrand the locations to Hy-Vee and Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh stores.

• Island Pacific Supermarket has opened a new store in Federal Way, WA.  It is the first location in the state.

 

Restaurant

• Cava Group, Inc. recently opened its 400th store location.

• Chick-fil-A Inc. reported it is planning to open six new restaurants in Oregon by early 2027.

• FB Society recently opened its fifth Mexican Sugar location. The 9,000 sq. ft. restaurant is in Addison, TX.

• In-N-Out Burger reportedly plans to open five new locations in CA, CO, and TN.

• Inspire Brands recently opened its 10,000th Dunkin’ location in the United States.

• Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. announced plans to open over 300 Popeyes restaurants in Mexico over the next 10 years.

• Raising Cane’s LLC announced plans to open seven new locations across the east coast this month in CT, DC, DE, FL, NY, and OH.

• Razzoo’s Inc. recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

• Restaurant Brands International Inc., has named Carolina Berti as its new Chief Marketing Officer at Firehouse Subs for the U.S. and Canada.

• Smoothie King Franchises Inc. has entered two new states. The company recently opened its first locations in Minnesota and Utah.

• Twin Hospitality Group Inc. announced it has appointed Melissa Fry as Chief Marketing Officer.

 

Retail

• 1-800 FLOWERS.com Inc. has announced the appointment of Melanie Babcock as its new Chief Marketing and Growth Officer.

• Batteries Plus LLC will open two new locations in Delaware. The new stores will mean the company now has stores in all 50 U.S. states.

• Carhartt, Inc. has opened its first store in New York City. The 5,000 sq. ft. store is in Manhattan.

• Five Below Inc. has announced the appointment of Daniel Sullivan as its new CFO. Michelle Israel has been named Chief Merchandising Officer of the company.

• The Orvis Co. Inc. announced it will close 31 full-price stores and 5 of its outlet stores by early 2026. The retailer will no longer sell apparel.

• Parksite Inc. announced its CFO, Ron Barthel, will retire. The company has appointed Jason Miele to take over the role.

• Recreational Equipment Inc. reported it is closing its stores in Boston, MA, New York City, NY, and Paramus, NJ, in 2026.

• Rite Aid Corporation has closed all its store locations.

• Tart Lumber Co. Inc. promoted Virginia Lewis to the role of President.

• Uniqlo reported it will open 11 new stores next spring and summer in CA, DC, IL, MA, MD, NY, and WA.
