Aaron’s, Inc. was founded in 1955 by R. Charles Loudermilk, Sr., and a partner after they borrowed $500 to purchase three hundred lawn chairs and rented them for ten cents apiece per day to auction houses. ‘Aarons Rents’ has been a phrase associated with the company ever since.
