• Ahold-Delhaize announced it has promoted Abby Cook to Senior VP of Own Brands.

• Brookshire Brothers announced Clay Oliver, its CFO, will become its COO. Jessica Brown has been hired as the new CFO. Stephanie Cole has been promoted to VP of Accounting. Jeff Bates has been promoted to General Counsel.

• Heritage Grocers Group reported it has named David Hinojosa as its new CEO.

• Meijer Inc. will open a new 159,000 sq. ft. supercenter in Brownsburg, IN. The grocer will open a new 47,000 sq. ft. store in Rochester Hills, MI. Both locations are set to open on May 6.

• El Pollo Loco Inc. plans to open 18 to 20 restaurants in 2026.

• Fired Up Inc. will open a new 6,000 sq. ft. Johnny Carino’s in Laredo, TX, this month.

• Golden Corral Corp. recently named Trona Balkissoon as its new CFO.

• Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt reported Naveen Dasa has been named as its new CFO.

• The Portillo Restaurant Group has announced the appointment of Jennifer Pecoraro-Striepling as its new Chief Development Officer.

• SPB Hospitality has promoted Amanda Hyde to COO of Krystal Restaurants LLC.

• Bob’s Discount Furniture reported it plans to open 20 new stores in 2026.

• Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. announced its President and CEO Sharon Price John will retire, effective June 11. Christopher Hurt has been named to succeed her as CEO at that time.

• Cava Group, Inc. recently opened its first restaurant in Ohio. The new 3,200 square feet location is in Cincinnati, OH.

• Citi Trends, Inc. said it plans to open 25 new stores, close 4 stores, and remodel 50 stores this year. The retailer is planning 40 new store openings in 2027.

• Dollar Tree Stores Inc. plans to open approximately 400 new stores in its current fiscal year.

• The Home Depot Inc. reported it will open 12 new locations in 2026. There are plans for four new stores in Texas, two in Florida, and one new store each in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Utah.

• Lands’ End Inc. has named Sarah Sylvester as its new Chief Marketing Officer.

• Mango Inc. recently opened its first location in Minnesota. The 10,000 sq. ft. store opened in Mall of America.

• Vera Bradley, Inc. has named Ian Bickley as its new Chairman and CEO. The retailer also announced Martin Layding, CFO, will take on the additional role of COO.

• Walmart Stores Inc. has named Erin Nealy Cox as its new Exec VP of Global Governance and Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary, effective April 13, 2026.

• Williams-Sonoma, Inc. has promoted Vicki McWilliams to President of Stores and Customer Care.
