Data Dive: The Largest Drug Stores That Aren't

Last month, Chain Store Guide sent out our first Drugstore Dashboard, a new quarterly feature that attempts to provide a visual, at-a-glance review of the current state of the drugstore industry.

This month, we want to add to that picture. We’ve queried the Drug Store & HBC Chains Database to determine the largest non-drugstore retailers in the US in terms of total pharmacies within their stores – and you can see the results below.

Much more than just the top drugstore chains – although it contains mountains of data on the likes of Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid – CSG’s Drug Store & HBC Chains Database covers grocery and big-box chains with pharmacies, health & beauty chains (HBC), cosmetics retailers, home healthcare stores, internet-only drug retailers, mail-order drug retailers, pharmacy only stores and vitamin stores.
