• Ahold Delhaize USA and Americold will wind down operations at an automated frozen distribution center in Lancaster, PA, and halt plans for a Plainville, CT, facility.
• Wakefern Food Corp. plans to open a 12,000-square-foot centralized pharmacy fulfillment center in early 2027 to support ShopRite and The Fresh Grocer pharmacies.

• Panera Bread has named Andrew Rebhun as Chief Marketing Officer. Mark Shambura will depart the company this month.
• Tropical Smoothie Cafe has appointed Joe Sieve as Chief Development & Growth Officer, succeeding Cheryl Fletcher ahead of her planned retirement.
• Pokeworks is expanding in Texas, with six locations under construction across Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and El Paso.
• Marco’s Pizza signed a three-unit development agreement in Columbia, MO, with the first location scheduled to open in October 2026.
• Wetzel’s Pretzels opened a new bakery at Cannon Beach Surf Park in Mesa, AZ.
• Little Caesars has named Jack Veltema as Director of Franchise Sales for the West.
• Potbelly opened a new shop at Fort Belvoir, VA, expanding its military-installation footprint.
• TAP Brazilian Cafe opened its fifth location in New York City’s NoMad neighborhood and plans a Coral Gables, FL, opening.
• Mountain Mike’s Pizza opened a restaurant in Wenatchee, WA, marking its fourth location in Washington and first in Chelan County.
• Dog Haus opened its first permanent international restaurant in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, with two additional Mexico locations planned in 2026.
Retail
• Best Buy appointed Anne Bramman as Chief Financial Officer, effective August 19. Matt Bilunas left the role on July 31.
• The Home Depot reorganized its technology leadership, moving store, supply chain and Pro product technology teams under EVP and CTO Franziska Bell.
• American Eagle Outfitters plans to open a $41 million distribution center in Salisbury, NC, in early 2027 to serve the Southeastern U.S.
• Amazon plans to add supply chain facilities in Holbrook, NY, and Terrell, TX, including a 4 million-square-foot operations facility in New York.
• Walmart and Wing launched drone delivery in Florida’s Greater Orlando area, with service from two stores and three additional stores planned.
