American Eagle to Open Scores of aerie Stores

AEO is on the rise. The company’s most recent earnings results bettered, by far, analysts’ expectations and included year-over-year total revenue up 14% with comparable store sales up 9%. Of particular note were comps at aerie stores: +27%.

When a banner posts those kinds of comps, it’s not a huge logical leap to build more. And that’s what AEO has planned. The company will build 50 to 80 new aerie stores in the next year, and executives noted that a number will be in new markets. As to exactly where these new stores will open, the company was a bit more circumspect, and it appears that analysis is ongoing.
